Lesson Development
Step 1: Introduction (5 minutes)
Teacher’s Activities:
- Greet the students and say a short prayer.
- Ask students if they’ve ever heard of the Holy Spirit and what they know about Him.
- Introduce the topic: The Coming of the Holy Spirit – The Day of Pentecost.
Students’ Activities:

Step 2: Description of the Activities on the Day of Pentecost (10 minutes)
Teacher’s Explanation:
- The Day of Pentecost occurred 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- The disciples were gathered in one place (the upper room).
- Suddenly, a sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the house.
- Tongues of fire appeared and rested on each of them.
- They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues.
- People from different nations heard them speak in their own languages.
- Some were amazed; others thought they were drunk.

Step 3: The Need for the Holy Spirit and His Role in Propagating the Gospel (10 minutes)
Teacher’s Explanation:
- Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit as a helper and comforter (John 14:26).
- The Holy Spirit gives believers boldness, power, and wisdom to preach the gospel.
- On the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached and 3,000 people were converted.
- The Holy Spirit helps to:
- Teach and remind believers of God’s Word
- Convict people of sin
- Empower believers to witness for Christ
- Guide, comfort, and strengthen the Church

- A Spirit-filled life means living under the control and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
- Characteristics of a Spirit-filled person:
- Lives a holy life
- Shows the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)
- Boldly witnesses Christ to others

- The coming of the Holy Spirit marked the birth of the early Church.
