Meaning of Pollution
Pollution is the act of making the environment dirty or unsafe by introducing harmful substances, such as waste, smoke, chemicals, or contaminated water.
Types of Pollution

Water Pollution: When rivers, streams, oceans, or wells are made dirty by waste, oil, chemicals, or sewage.

Land Pollution: When land is made dirty by refuse, plastics, metals, and harmful chemicals.

EXPERIMENT: SIMPLE PURIFICATION OF POLLUTED WATER
Aim: To purify dirty water
Materials: Dirty water, bottle, cloth/filter paper, sand, charcoal
Procedure:

Cut a bottle into two parts

Place charcoal and sand inside the top part
-
Pour dirty water through it
-
Observe cleaner water coming out
Conclusion: Filtration helps to remove dirt from polluted water.
