ASSIGNMENT: Is Formal Education or Schooling a SCAM

PART A

When the Sun shine, it pays homage to the sky, when the moon shine it pays homage to the sky. Am here to pay homage to who is due to by saying Good day Mr. Chairman, Panel of Judges, Co-debaters and my Fellow Audience.

My name is Akinde Oluwapelumi, I am a student of Ansar-ud-deen Junior Grammar School, Badagry, and I am here to support the motion which says; is Formal Education or Schooling a Scam?

Before I proceed, I will like to tell you the key term in the following statements.

  • Formal Education: is a rule of structure on how to be successful.
  • Schooling: is an act or process of learning in a particular place.
  • Scam: informal or dishonest thing.

Firstly, schooling is a scam because many people believe that school is a Scam and that it doesn’t teach students the necessary life skills to be relevant in the society.

If we look at our nation today, actually it has shown that school is a Scam. In a nation where youth are not working, if you are searching for application nowadays you need to know those that are in authority.

Thirdly, it is common on the lips of young; Nigerians the expression shows the expression that says {School na Scam}. Because some student have talents; for instance a student that have action and wishing to be an actress but or getting to the industry. The director wants something from her before she can participate and is too common of her wasting time at school.

With this few point of mine, I will be able to convince you not to confuse others that formal education or schooling is a Scam.

PART B

Is Formal Education or Schooling a SCAM?

Firstly, whether formal, informal or self-education, none is a Scam. Of course self-education is most paramount in knowledge acquisition, but formal education equally important, that is why government invests so much in it.

Secondly, education is the key for success. It gives knowledge of skill and ethics that have been there in the world which we learn as it help us to progress further.

Education is not a Scam, do not be distracted by people who say so due to the face that there are people making money whether illegal or legit.

The importance of education cannot be over emphasized as such the benefits are enormous in the long run.

The seed of education is bitter but the fruit is sweet. With these few point of mine, I will be able to convince you not to confuse you that schooling or formal education is not a Scam.
