Joshua was God’s choice to take over from Moses. God gave Joshua the strength to finish the mission, that was started by Moses. Joshua wasn’t better or worse than Moses, but he was God’s choice for the task that needed to be completed at that time.
Before Moses died, he publicly installed Joshua as his successor as the Lord’s direction. Joshua not only had to face giants, but also had to convince the Israelites to follow God’s orders and has leadership. God told Joshua that if he simply obeyed him, he would be successful in everything that he would do and that no man would be allowed to stand before him.
In Conclusion Joshua was called by God to continue from where Moses stopped after the death of Moses. He was chosen and equipped by God to lead the Israelite’s (Numbers 13:16,14:10, 27:15-23 and Joshua 1:1-9).
