Materials Needed:

Chalkboard, markers, notebooks, flashcards, visual aids, and any other relevant teaching aids.

Lesson Structure

Introduction and Icebreaker

Start the session with a brief introduction to JSS 2, emphasizing the importance of revising previous knowledge.

Conduct an icebreaker activity to engage students.

This could involve a quick quiz on JSS 1 topics or a fun game that touches on key concepts.

Review of Puberty

Recap: Discuss the physical, emotional, and psychological changes that occur during puberty. Review the differences between male and female puberty, including the development of secondary sexual characteristics.

ACTIVITY:

Ask students to share their experiences or what they remember about puberty. Create a safe and open environment for discussion.

TAKEAWAY:

Emphasize the importance of understanding these changes as part of growing up and how this knowledge will help them navigate adolescence.

Family Needs, Goals, and Standards

Recap: Revisit the concepts of family needs, goals, and standards. Discuss how families set goals to meet their needs and the importance of having standards in a family.

ACTIVITY:

Divide students into groups and ask them to create a simple plan for a fictional family’s needs, goals, and standards. Each group presents their plan to the class.

Takeaway: Highlight the role of family goals and standards in achieving a balanced and successful family life.

Production of Clothing and Household Items

Healthy Feeding and Eating Practices

Activity: Organize a short drill or teamwork exercise that instills discipline and promotes unity among students.

Takeaway: Link the values learned in paramilitary activities to the discipline needed in academic and personal life.

Conclusion

Summary: Recap the key points from each topic and encourage students to ask questions.

Assignment:

Give students a short quiz or assignment that covers the main topics revised. This will help reinforce their understanding.

Reflection: Allow students to reflect on how the topics revised relate to their lives and how they can apply this knowledge in JSS 2.

Homework

Ask students to write a short essay on one of the revised topics, discussing how it is relevant to their daily lives.

This revision session will not only refresh students’ memory of what they learned in JSS 1 but also set a strong foundation for the topics they will encounter in JSS 2.
