God’s Divine Power

Divine Power

When we think about the universe, we understand that divine power is a fundamental requirement for everything to exist. This is what Peter is referring to when he says that our spiritual life is built on divine power.

And yet, unless we cultivate this divine power, it will grow lean and faint.

1. We need the power of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the power that enables us to live the Christian life and share the gospel with those around us. He convicts, teaches, equips, and empowers Christians to grow in grace and spread the gospel to the world.

Throughout the Bible, we see examples of the Holy Spirit at work in and through believers. The Holy Spirit dwelt within Moses as he led the people of Israel out of Egypt and into Canaan.

We also see the Holy Spirit at work when Jesus Christ began His ministry “in the power of the Holy Spirit.” He was able to perform miracles, speak in tongues, and teach.

The Bible also tells us that the Holy Spirit is necessary for us to be saved (Acts 8:14–15; Galatians 5:22–23). If we do not have the Spirit, we cannot be born again of God’s Spirit and have eternal life in heaven.

2. We need the power of God

The power of God is a very important and necessary subject for us to understand as we seek to be saved. It is the supernatural energy that flows from the life of God himself.

It is the divine energy that enables God to bring people into a right relationship with Him, to forgive their sins, and to save them from destruction. It is the very energy that energizes the lives of Christians and allows them to witness for God.

The power of God is displayed in many ways throughout the Bible. But the most obvious demonstration of His power is seen in Jesus’ death and resurrection.

3. We need the power of Christ

The Bible tells us that the power of Christ is the only message in the world that will bring a sinner safely into the presence of God. Other messages will try to help, but the gospel is the only one that truly saves someone.

This is because Christ imparts life to dead sinners, something that human beings cannot do. He does this through the power of His word and through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

He does this by making them see and understand what it means to be saved. He does this through the enlightenment of their eyes and hearts so that they will know that they are the children of God, that they have been called to live in Him, that they have been regenerated, and that they are His people.

The power of Christ is not just to save; it is also to strengthen our lives and make us better. The power of Christ is available to every Christian to enable them to fulfill their callings and do good works in their everyday lives.

4. We need the power of the Holy Spirit

He is the third Person of the Trinity, co-equal with God the Father and Jesus Christ.

The Spirit appears throughout the Bible as a mighty power, empowering men to achieve great things for God’s glory and benefit. David was an example of this, as he was anointed by the Spirit and enabled to do amazing things, even during times of extreme hardship.

Christians receive the Holy Spirit at conversion and are empowered by Him to live a life of faith and fruitfulness. The Spirit’s gifts enable us to live a Christ-like life and share the gospel with others.

Jesus promised that the Spirit would come, live in his followers, and empower them to spread the gospel. He commanded them to be His witnesses “in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
