TOPIC: THE CHOSEN (PART 2)
BIBLE TEXT: ACTS 2:17-18
ACTS 2:17-18
17 In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
Introduction
Last week, God minister His mind to us about our fathers He chose to pour out His spirit upon to carry out different assignment for Him on earth and at different times.
In the old testament, His spirit was in the life of very few people and this people were chosen by Him. He released His spirit to only this few people and they did marvelously well for Him while they were on earth to an extent that they had good report. Good report is that they didn’t use the spirit of God for their own personal gain but for God’s profit only.
Further more, we were told about the prophecy of Prophet Joel that “ it shall come to pass, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and we were told what our sons and daughters will be doing, what the adults and servants will be doing, that some will prophecy, some will see visions while some will dream dreams.
This prophecy came to pass when Peter and the other apostles received this spirit and people thought they are drunk but Peter stood up to debunk this claim of been drunk and he made them understand that they shouldn’t be surprise that this is just a fulfillment of the prophecy by Prophet Joel.
We were told about the men God released His spirit upon to do great works for Him e.g David, Gideon, Daniel, Jephthah, our own Ayo Joseph Babalola and Jesus Christ Himself, while some key points were given to us to meditate upon.
Today, we will continue with this same topic titled, THE CHOSEN (PART 2).
We need to conclude this message because we need to know our position in this earth.
Many of what our country, church, families, homes is passing through is majorly from us. What are the prophets of today seeing that we cannot see, those visions and prophecies, who say we also cannot gain access to this realms. Is a pity that many today are serving two masters. Is not possible to serve 2 masters. We just have to choose. Is either you are of the world of you are for God, Matthew 6:24.
There is a major reason why God said I will pour out my spirit, because He knows there is someone in charge of this world, Rev 12:12b, because He knows that Satan dwells in this earth.
God knows that for us to function in this earth, He knows we need something different an more superior that will assist us to work victoriously on earth. He knows we need His spirit to walk in this earth. No wonder 1 John 5:4, that anyone born of God has overcome this world.
What this means is that whoever God pours out His spirit upon, that person has overcome already and they view things differently the way others view it.
When you are in the spirit, you are not seeing what others are seeing.
– When some people are seeing sickness, you that has Gods spirit will be seeing good health because of the spirit in you sees differently.
– When some people are seeing disappointment, you that has Gods spirit will be seeing acceptance because of the spirit in you sees differently.
– When some people are seeing hate, you that has Gods spirit will be seeing love because of the spirit in you sees differently.
– When others are seeing failures, you that is filled with Gods spirit will be seeing hope and victory because the spirit in you sees differently etc
– When some people are seeing hatred on their fellow man, you that is filled with Gods spirit will be seeing love because the spirit in you sees differently etc Even if they offend you or do things that is wrong to you, you will still extend the hand of love to them because of the spirit of God in you which is also the spirit of love.
But let me warn us that we shouldn’t rejoice too much that God has chosen you to receive His spirit, because the man that God cast down to this earth (Satan) will never ever allow you to showcase that spirit in your life. Satan will never allow you speak those prophecies or visions to that family, your friends or even use that gift in the church. He will find a way to corrupt that spirit or weaken it.

- What Satan attacks when you are a chosen one.
He attacks your prayer and fasting life
Let me tell us things that kill our prayer and fasting life.
If Satan wants to mess you up and also deny you that is chosen by God from displaying or putting God’s spirit to action for yourself, family, church and society he will do everything to attack your prayer and fasting life through the following:
Excessive eating: Matthew 4:3-4.
If you eat too much you will find it difficult to pray. Satan knows Jesus has just received a confirmation that He has been chosen and the spirit is upon Him and has led Him to the wilderness and he knows Jesus was hungry, so he offers Him food. He told Jesus to command the stone to bread. Satan will never advice you to pray or fast but he will remind you of the food you have to eat or has not eaten for a long time.
He will remind you of aporon, pounded yam and other different kind of food that you have been missing. Imagine food is dwelling in us where God should dwell.
Jesus responded that man must not live by pounded yam alone or semo alone or ifokore alone because if is food all the time, you will find it difficult to pray. This is how Satan attacks the prayer life of those chosen and will not make you pray.
Excessive sleeping: Matthew 13:25, Mark 14:37.
Here, Jesus found them sleeping and He woke them up 3 times to join Him in prayer but is a pity they were sleeping. Many of us will sleep all through the night to morning. Some even sleep in their market place, office and even while walking on the road. Those chosen to carry Gods spirit must not be sleeping but must be awake in prayer all the time. Satan will ensure those chosen will never function effectively for God. No wonder the spirit of God is so weak in us.
Filthiness in your spirit:
If you are not a discipline person, I advise you don’t hold your phone close to you whenever you want to pray or fast because if you put it on, whatever you see will pollute your heart easily. Is a pity that satan is sending out pornographies around and believers are falling for it through what they see on phones or watch on TV.
Satan will attack you with dirty and bad thoughts, he will urge you to listen to dirty songs etc. All this things mentioned are what will kill the spirit in you, no wonder many cannot see visions or prophesy to their families because they have fed their spirit with dirty things.
Bad environment
This means a gathering were gossip, backbiting, backstabing is rampant. If you find yourself in this gathering, it will kill the spirit of God in you. The longer you stay in this gathering Satan will be happy that you will dying bit bit in the spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:33. As a chosen person you will never function well for Him.
Psalm 1:1… was emphatic about this blessing that if we don’t walk with the ungodly, stand in the way of sinners and sit in the sit of the scornful, He will continue to bless us and show us those visions and prophecies that our families need. This is how Satan attacks our prayer life.
Worry
The moment we allow thinking to take charge, we are telling God to stop working in us. It is impossible to please God when you worry because God works with our faith and worry kills the faith and faith is a spiritual gift.
The moment you have this spirit of God in you, Satan will attack you with things that God has not yet done and many worries like the children’s school fees, debt, what to eat etc will come up and you find yourself getting weaker in prayer and even fasting.
Without faith you cannot please God..Heb 11:6, God has His time to do it and He requires our patience even when we chosen.
KILLS YOUR LIFE RIGHTEOUSNESS: Romans 7:23.
Satan will never allow us live a righteous life, he will do everything to attack our righteous living the moment he sees you are a chosen vessel that carries Gods spirit.
In the above verse, Apostle Paul says, he saw another law fighting the law that is already inside him. The law inside him is already that of God (ie he can pray, fast, worship God, serve God etc) but another law is fighting the previous law. What this means is that those things fighting him are the sins eg fornication, stealing, fighting, committed before. Satan will bring back to remembrance all the past sins and many will start feeling weak, some might not come to church, some will carry this burden to an extent that there won’t be the spirit of God again to move. He will look for everything that will subject you to your flesh just to make sure you don’t walk in the spirit.
- WHAT HE WILL TELL THOSE WHO ARE CHOSEN TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT
When God is telling you what is written, the devil will tell you what is not written. Gen 3:1-4.
Adam and Eve experienced this in the hand of the serpent. Satan in disguise through the serpent had to change what has been written by God and he introduced what has not been written.
What exactly has not been written that Satan is telling you as a chosen of God:
So, if he is saying you will die, tell him that you will not die but live to declare the glory of God. Let him know that what he sees is different from what you are seeing.
-If the devil say that sickness will lead to death, tell him what Jeremiah 30:17, Isaiah 58:8
-If the devil say anything about your children, tell him that both you and children are for signs and wonders, Isaiah 8:18.
So begin to say what has been written about your life, about your family, about your business, about your children etc as a chosen one with Gods spirit.
If we have this understanding the spirit of God will help us reject what has not been written. Also, I advise us as carriers of Gods spirit that we should never allow what has not been written to sink in to us.
He is the best option: Acts 4:12
The moment you have God’s spirit in you, Satan will come to you as the best option.
If God has decide to pour His spirit upon you, that doesn’t mean all prayers and request from Him will be answered immediately. God sometimes will require us to be patient with Him but while been patient, the devil will come and give us another offer that he will do it quickly. He will tell you that he is the best option to solve your problem. He will offer a shortcut to solve your problem.
Please be careful, because all what has been mentioned here is what Satan will be telling anyone that has been chosen with the spirit of God.

Way out
Don’t joke with God’s word: Do not put God’s word aside because he will put you aside too.
Those that God has poured His spirit upon must be lovers of His word. Those visions and prophecies are all in the bible. Continue to read it because there is life in it.
Give yourself to prayer: The bible says, pray without ceasing. Are you in the market, work, bathroom, on the road just let your heart be speaking and your mouth be saying something.
Do not forsake the gathering of the saint
Endeavor not to forsake the gathering of where they are teaching God’s word eg Bible studies, Sunday School sessions or church sessions. Please dont forsake them.
Conclusion
God is no longer sending people from afar to deliver visions or prophecies because He has poured His spirit in you and sees you as His chosen one. So, you are the prophet in your family, you are the prophet in your church and the prophet of your life, however be careful because Satan is attacking those who carry Gods spirit.
