SUMMARY OF GENESIS CHAPTER 6-10

Chapter 6

This chapter was telling us about the wickedness of man in the generation of Noah, every thought of their heart was evil and God was not pleased with it. The earth was corrupted in the sight of God that made God to be angry. Noah was blameless and a righteous man in his generation, Noah walked with God and he had three sons (Shem, Ham and Japheth).

And God said to him that he has determined to destroy the earth, that he should make an ark to save himself, family and various living things that he will bring a flood of water to destroy all flesh. The God establish a covenant with Noah that he shall come into the ark which he has made including his wife, sons, sons wives and all living things of all flesh and Noah obey to what God has commanded him to do.

Chapter 7

Furthermore, God told Noah that he should move into the ark which he has made together with his household including all clean animals and God sent a rain from heaven to rain and the rain fell for forty days and forty nights. Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water fell upon the earth. The water rain so heavily that all high mountains under the heaven were covered up. God destroy every living things that are upon the ground, only Noah and those that are together with him in the arc were saved

Chapter 8

This chapter was telling about the after flood. The ark was Noah and his households were inside rested upon the mountain of arc, at the end of the forty days. Noah opened the window and he sent one of the birds called raven and it went until the water were dried up on the earth, then Noah sent a dove and the dove went and came back with an olive leaf, so he waited another seven days then sent another dove and it went and never came back. So the water has been dried off and Noah removed the covering of the ark.

Then, Noah built an alter and bring every clean animals and he offered a burnt offerings on the alter. So when God smelled the odor, he said to himself that he will never curse or destroy every living creature as he has done before.

Chapter 9

This chapter tells us about the covenant after the flood. So God blessed Noah and his family, then God said to Noah together with his sons, that he has establish his covenant with them that they shall be no flood to destroy the Earth and said that the sign of his covenant between him and every living creature for all future generations will be the bow in the cloud and it shall be the covenant between him and the Earth. Then Ham became the father of canaan and all the day of Noah was nine hundred and fifty years and he died.

Chapter 10

This chapter is just about the genealogies in their nation and from these the nation spread all over the earth after the flood.

Lesson To Learn 

What I learnt was that we should be righteous and be blameless just like Noah and every through of our heart should be positive not the other way round and we should always keep to God commandment.
